I am intrigued by the chemistry of atypical antipsychotics. Haldol represents all the conventional. The atypicals appear in the order they were approved in Canada, although Ziprasidone is still in the trials stage. Researchers don't know yet how many of the different receptors affected by the atypcials are involved in schizophrenia, if at all, but the atypicals are clearly superior drugs.
